"Unexpected" Sweepstakes
GOALS:
Although many of their raving fans already “got it,” Windstar Cruises sought to spread the word about what makes their boutique cruise experiences different from any other cruise line – both on ship and ashore.
STRATEGY:
Rather than simply telling, we decided to show with a unique campaign that allowed participants to virtually experience the Windstar difference through a short true-or-false quiz. To spark interest and participation, we offered a free 10-day cruise to one lucky winner.
The specifics that make the Windstar experience unique were presented as questions which, once answered, would enter the participant in the sweepstakes. We supported the sweepstakes with organic content and promotion on Facebook, lnstagram, and Twitter over a 7-week period.
RESULTS:
Windstar Cruises laid out a specific goal of 10,000 entrants for this contest. Thanks to the high-value prize paired with the engaging campaign execution, we were able to get almost 2.5x that initial goal. A smashing success!
