Founded in 2009, Project Bionic is a comprehensive Social Media Marketing Agency located in the eclectic, vibrant Ballard neighborhood of Seattle. We serve a wide range of local, regional and national brands on a project and retainer basis, providing content creation, community management, paid, analytics, and brand consulting services.
We are currently seeking a Creative Director to join our in-house Creative Team of 5 including a Lead Writer, Lead Editor, Graphic Designer, Videographer, Visual Platforms Manager and a handful of contractors that specialize in Photography, Content Writing and Project Management. A strong candidate will have expertise in both the visual and creative writing sides of marketing.
Qualifications for Creative Director
- 10+ years of creative experience within the marketing / advertising industry
- 3-5+ years experience in a leadership / director role
- Bachelor’s degree in marketing, design, creative writing or related field; or equivalent professional experience
- Expert in a variety of software programs such as the Adobe Creative Suite, Microsoft Office Suite, etc. and familiarity with Content Management Platforms
- Strong organizational, project and time management skills
- Impeccable written and verbal communication
- Strong knowledge of marketing best practices, industry trends, brand/content strategy and development
- Big picture perspective and knowledge on how to develop and grow brand identities through multi-channel marketing
- Good comfort level interacting with high-profile clients and industry professionals
- Evidence of participation in ongoing professional development opportunities within the industry
- Recent hands-on experience with applying design, copy, social, web or marketing best practices and a website or portfolio of work to back it up
- Professional business skills, such as negotiation, project management, relationship building and humble leadership
- Talent in presenting and pitching information concisely and accurately, with keen attention to detail within a fast-paced environment
- Ability to recognize when new roles are needed within the creative team and can pitch, recruit, hire and mentor strategic talent and/or teams
- Experience with on-site and remote creative production, managing contractors and agency relationships
- Ability to manage a budget dedicated to the creative team

Responsibilities for Creative Director
- Have the experience and vision to build and lead a team of creatives that support 30+ brands under management at Project Bionic
- Manage internal and external creative staff to develop the competencies to take social visuals and copy to the next level using the most current industry best practices
- Mentor and encourage creative team members to foster a positive work environment
- Shoulder the responsibility of the quality and completion of all work assigned to members of the creative team
- Participate in and provide regular opportunities for professional development and growth
- Report progress on projects at major stages of their conception, creation, and execution
- Ensure visuals and creative content reflect consistently and positively the brand image and company ideals for each client
- Serve as a liaison between the Account Management and Creative teams as well as between the Creative team and individual clients
- Anticipate problems that may impede a project from completing on time and implement solutions
- Translate marketing objectives into clear creative strategies
- Oversee profitability, deliverables, timelines and budgets for the Creative team
- Help build processes and tools that enable the creative team to work efficiently and produce top tier work while consistently meeting deadlines
- Use technical skills to direct and collaborate with both in-house and external creatives, guiding them from conception through to final product
- Effectively guide our clients and team members to the strongest solutions
- Help drive and improve Project Bionic’s on-boarding and creative brief processes
